Guidelines
Not all fans are familiar, stay respectful
We can't assume people remember everything about us. Make sure, whatever form the communication takes, it's easy for them to understand who we are with minimal effort
All that said, don't distract from the clear and simple ask
Use images, links and aphoristic lines to evoke the DC5B context. Keep it light and to the side.
The main focus should be the ask
We can assume that people support us
This routine is for "fans" so don't be shy about telling them what help we need.
Maybe direct, maybe anonymous
Generally people help less when they are aware that other people are being asked to help too. At the same time, when people volunteer their help has a different quality to when they feel obliged. I think we generally want people to volunteer their help.
And back on the other hand one more time. There are times when we need everyone to chip in, those times should be few and far-between but fund raising, for example, is one of those times when you'd want everyone to help with whatever they can comfortably afford.
